BUSHWACKER MEMORIAL DAY BBQ Sunday, May 27th, 2001 5pm Tri-Chem parking lot, Harrison, NJ
Last summer we had our first alumni gathering, it was small, but it was fun. It was very last minute and I didn’t have time to inform all alumni of the gathering, but the word is spreading and we are getting updated contact information for the alumni of the Bushwackers. We’d love to have as many alumni attend any and all events to have some fun and see your friends from the past, present and future. This year the alumni will be cooking a BBQ meal for the marching members on the Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend. The Corps has been working hard this year and we’d like to show them our support and provide a BBQ for them as they embark upon the competition season. We have yet to gather together the alumni to start an official association so there is no income of money. So we are asking for the alumni to bring something for the BBQ. Please respond by calling or emailing us to let us know what you’ll be able to provide. Both Kris and I are working a ton of hours in our jobs, so we may not be home, I’m encouraging you to respond if possible via e-mail if you have it, or if you call please leave your name, number and what you’d like to bring. It may take us a couple days to get back to you, but we will be calling you. You can also contact us via US postal mail if desired too. If you cannot make it to the BBQ, there is also a list of things that we may be able to help provide the corps for the year. Please feel free to check a few items if you can and don’t feel like you have to bring exactly what’s on the list. If you have another idea, go with it, I’m sure it’ll be great. If any one would like to volunteer to help out in getting this whole BBQ together, please let us know. Help is always appreciated. We will be having further celebrations with the Bushwackers throughout the year, so stayed tuned. We are currently putting together an alumni page on our website, www.bushwackers.org so please visit regularly for any updates on the corps. Donation Suggestions ___Cups, Plates and/or Napkins (the corps can use these throughout the season.) ___Spray paint for field lining ___Truck fund – (Oil, windshield wiper fluid, gas money) ___Money ___Drive the truck for one weekend out of the season ___Clean and paint equipment truck ___Help bring on pit equipment/podiums/props at a show you attend ___Cooking food for camp or show weekend ___Provide water to corps pre-show or parade ___Building/painting on field props ___Sewing ___Other suggestions: __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________
UPCOMING ALUMNI EVENT: Prop building and painting May 19th 2pm TriChem, Harrison, NJ We need as many people as possible to come out to help in building and painting the props for on the field. The corps will be rehearsing at this time and we need extra people to create these props. All the plans are drawn and the supplies will be there. Bring yourself and maybe some tools to help out. Even if you don’t think you have too much talent to part-take in this, think again. We need every one we can get.
