December 2001Hello to all Bushwackers Alumni, Family and Friends,The Bushwackers have started the 2002 season and it's looking like a hot one! Your support is important to us, and we'd like to give you an opportunity to become a part of the Bushwackers family again. Recently, we've been looking to our past, the years you've marched here, as an example to become a success. Last year, using hard work and Quality, the Corps succeeded in jumping a full 5 places from the prior year's DCA. We intend to keep on that same path for 2002 and we'd like to have your assistance in this pursuit. The Bushwackers will be doing much more fundraising this year, so we'll need people to help organize events, as well as attend them. Many of the ideas to raise funds are fun things like bowl-a-thons, pasta dinners, and other parties. Please also check out the following page in regards to becoming a Bushbacker in the Magenta and Blue Club: http://www.bushwackers.org/mnbclub/ There are openings in all sections right now, please feel free to check out the Current Schedule on our website and stop by the next camp. If you do not have time to commit in a full-time capacity, there are other, shorter-term ideas listed below on how you can help the Corps. If you have any ideas or thoughts about how to help the Bushwackers, please contact me, I welcome your input. You can decide upon your own commitment. Come out to all the functions, show up every other Sunday or be there 5 weekends during the year, the choice is yours. Remember that whatever amount of time you have to donate to the Corps would be helpful and very much appreciated. We need volunteers for the following always: Food and drink donations:
Corps equipment truck:
Show or Parade volunteers:
Miscellaneous but just as important things:
The Alumni support has grown over the last year, and I appreciate everyone's efforts, but we need more people to help out. As the Corps grows, it's a little overwhelming to have only 5 of us, or sometimes less to get everything together, and do the extra things needed to keep the Corps rolling. If you can commit to some time, any time. with the Bushwackers, it make it a success for everyone! One last thing, I'd like to thank the people that have helped me and the Bushwackers this past year and are currently helping the Corps. You've been awesome, I appreciate your help and I'm so happy that you're here! Peace and best wishes, Mary Snyder Previous Alumni Updates |
