5/9/02Hello to all Bushwackers alumni, friends and family!I hope everyone is well and that the spring is being most kind to them. The Bushwackers are getting ready to head into the busy time of year, and I'd like to keep you updated on all the new events. Listed below we have many opportunities for you to see the Corps as well as things we need volunteers for. If you have a chance, check out the Corps website whenever possible, there are always changes, updates and additions taking place www.bushwackers.org I hope you can make it out to some events or shows this year to see the Bushwackers. I think it'll prove to be a very memorable year and a lot of fun. We have a huge amount of returning vets this year and our "rookies" have proven to be very talented and just as hard working. Please let me know if you'd like to help out with anything, even if it's for one day, you'd be a big help. As Bush has grown larger, it takes more than just a couple of us to help the Corps, so please donate some time to the Bushwackers. Thank you all! Peace, Mary Snyder Bushwackers Alumni Chairperson Alumni@Bushwackers.org ********************************************************* Annual Memorial Day Party! When: Sunday, May 26, 8pm Where: Geo Chemical in Harrison, NJ We will have a performance for friends, family and alumni, then the party begins! We will be having a huge barbecue. Burgers, dogs, soda, beer (for those of age)... Everyone is invited. We'd love to try to get as many alumni there as possible. Someone made the comment that they thought it'd be neat to try to get a rookie there from every year the corps has been in existence, 1981-2001. It'd be great if we could do this, so make an effort to come out. I think you'll really enjoy the 2002 show, the corps is having a great spring and we're almost full. It'll give you the opportunity to see many old friends and meet the next generation of hard-working Bushwackers. This party is always a blast and there is a rumor that we may even have a live band again like we did a few years back. So come out, bring the family and friends; enjoy some good drum corps, food and beverage and some great memories. Directions: From NJ Turnpike: From Garden State Parkway: TV RaffleWe will be having a monthly TV raffle (May, June, July, and August). The last Sunday of each month, we will be picking our winner. The proceeds will go towards the up-front costs of our home show. $10.00 per ticket. Please contact me if you're interested in buying a chance at a TV. ******SOMETHING NEW*****Weekend Food Servers: I'm looking for volunteers to come help serve food to the corps on weekends. We've decided that it's more beneficial for rehearsal time if we serve the corps lunch (1:00) and dinner (5:00) on Saturdays and lunch on Sundays (1:00). If you happen to have spare time on either day on the weekend and would like to help out please let me know. I would really appreciate the help; the Corps is a heck of a lot bigger this year, so they'll need more than just my hands. Peace, Mary Snyder Alumni Chairperson Previous Alumni Updates |
