Greetings to all Bushwacker alumni, friends and family!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season. I saw a few Bushwacker alumni in Chicago over the Christmas holiday, and they are doing very well and wish everyone a great season.

The Bushwackers' annual Open House was on December 1 and was rather successful. Many vets returned, as well as, a large amount of new faces were there for all sections. The Bushwackers 2003 Production will be entitled "Journey to the Moon". The show will be divided into four sections using three pieces.

Part One - "The launch" - Twelve Seconds to the Moon by Robert Smith
Part Two - "Orbit" - (Ballad) Cadillac in the Skies by John Williams
Part Three - "The Landing" - Excerpt from To Tame the Perilous Skies by David Holsinger
Part Four - "Reentry" - Excerpt from To Tame the Perilous Skies by David Holsinger

There are some spots left in all sections, if you are interested in marching this year, please contact me alumni@bushwackers.org, or Chris Kilian at membership@bushwackers.org

The big treat of the Open House was the alumni and a few current members treated all the Bushwackers to a luncheon of many delicious foods like pulled pork, ziti, sausage & peppers, lasagna, sub sandwiches and a variety of salads and desserts. I'd like to thank the people that made it all possible...Franci Beckman-Carter, John Gough, the Kowals, the Graefs, Genny Trossello, Kerri Nelson, Jerome Kimbrough, Brian Law, Jeff Schrimmer, Jamie Coolbaugh, Tina Nightlinger, Gary Nell, Diane (Leahy) Sadowski, Lisa "Argul", Joe Itkor, Josh Kelley, and the Brunners. I hope I didn't miss anyone, sorry if I did. Without these people, we could have never accomplished such a nice treat for the corps members, thanks so much.

On March 29th at the Parsippany PAL, Bushwackers will be hosting the first Spring Classic Solo, Ensemble and Mini-Corps competition. All are welcome to participate; you can be associated with any drum corps or no drum corps at all. I'm encouraging you to come out to see this great show, I think you will not be disappointed finding some awesome entertainment. For those of you that may still have their chops and would like to participate in this event, please visit www.springclassic.net for further information for signing up. We will also need some volunteers to help run the event, ticket takers, directing performers where they need to go, or 50/50 sales. Please contact me as soon as possible to volunteer for this event.

Please check out http://www.bushwackers.org/member/winsched.html for all current information on rehearsal site and times through the winter. If you'd like to volunteer for anything like truck driving, feeding the corps, sewing, or donating water, money or other goods, please feel free to contact me at any time. We would really appreciate your help. There is more news items below from our drum major Chris Kilian, and more details for the above mentioned events.

Best of luck in your New Year. I hope it is filled with much happiness, joy and success. I'll try to keep you all updated on any new events.

Peace,

Mary Snyder

Thank you!

Thank you for your support. The Bushwackers are working hard to carry on the tradition of excellence and family. The legacy you've left for this generation of Bushwackers has not been forgotten. With your help and a lot of hard work on our part...we'll keep climbing the ladder back to where the Bushwackers belong! Stop by, visit our website and find out where we'll be. We'd love to see you, chat a bit, and show you what we're made of. If you get the bug to maybe pick that horn, drum, or flag up one more time...great! If not, that's fine too. Just don't forget about us...because we haven't forgotten about you.

Thanks again for your support. Happy holidays, and we look forward to see you at some point in 2003!
