| Ben Schwartz is currently the Band Director and Percussion Arranger for Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, NJ. He has taught and wrote music for several competitive marching bands in New Jersey in the past decade, including Governor Livingston, Sayreville, and Lakewood. While earning a Music Education degree at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Ben studied classical percussion with marimba virtuoso She-e Wu, and also studied with DCI hall of famer Dennis Delucia. In the drum corps world, Ben has been a marching member with the Raiders, the Sunrisers, and the Bushwackers. In 2007, Ben was named Percussion Caption Head/Arranger for Fusion Core in there inaugural season, and acted as the pit instructor in 2009. In addition, Ben was a 2 year marching member of the West Chester University Golden Rams Marching Band. He is also a music adjudicator for USSBA, and he has won the Drum Corps Associates I&E Drum Set competition two times, in 2006 and 2009. He is thrilled to be on the percussion staff at the Bushwackers for the 2010 season, and hopes to achieve great results! |
