This is a message from our fundraising person Rubin Cornier. I wanted to make sure all of the alumni can see this even if you are not signed up on the Bush Boards. (Seeing as you are here, maybe you should sign up. :D )

To All:

I’ve been working on some fundraising ideas for Bush and I came across on opportunity which is going to help us get this grass field.

An older alumnus has given us a great opportunity to get this field. This person (who wishes to remain anonymous) has pledged $1000.00 (yes, half) for us to be able to get this grass field for next year.

Here are the stipulations:

1) That we MATCH this money dollar for dollar. We already have $440 (that makes a grand total of $1440), only $560 (or 28 more people) from our goal; and

2) This is the real challenge. WE NEED TO HAVE THESE MATCHING PLEDGES IN THE NEXT TWO (2) WEEKS!!!

We do not want to lose this opportunity to reach our goal so WE MUST ACT NOW!!! We have until October 15 to get 28 more people to pledge $20 each. Including this generous $1000 we are more than half way to our goal, almost ¾ of the way actually. Please talk to people, look under the rocks, in the woodworks and all the other clichés. Respond on here and list your pledge with the rest of us. This list will be updated until we reach our goal. PLEASE DON’T LET THIS MONEY JUST FLY OUT OF OUR GRASP. WE HAVE THIS CHALLENGE THAT WE SIMPLY MUST MEET. It’s the best shot we have at getting this done.

I hope to hear from everyone. Thank you for all of your support as we enter the 2010 Season of the Bushwackers.

Sincerely,

J. Rubin Cornier

P.S. Following is the original letter from Brian Law with all the info on where to send a payment as well as the current list of pledges.

The corps has an opportunity to move off the commuter lot next spring and moving on to a nice grass field. Brian Fallon has made the contacts and has worked a sweet deal for us. The problem is, of course, coming up with the money to make this happen ($2,000.00 for the season). Here's our solution: We need 100 people to pledge $20.00 each to the cause. I've already gotten a few verbal commitments but we need a few more people to jump on board. I GUARANTEE that your donation will go directly towards funding this project. I want to avoid tapping the membership, as many of them are currently making extreme sacrifices just to be part of the corps (gas, tolls, tuition, housing and food). This is a chance for all of us, to step up and take part in something that will make the Bushwackers, a more attractive option for potential new members. Also, it'll make for a better place for everyone to come and hang out and watch the corps rehearse (not that there's anything wrong with coming to a shade less, asphalt parking lot right next to the turnpike on a 101 degree Sunday afternoon. Not to mention, save on the wear and tear of the bodies of some of us relics that still pound the pavement with one of the greatest groups of people in drum corps.

Where can you pledge? Right Here! Just reply with your name and I'll PM you with the info on where to send your pledge. Your pledge will go directly to fund the field - nowhere else.

What do you get in return? Aside from helping to provide for a better rehearsal facility for OUR CORPS, your name will be added to a sign that will be displayed on the corps trailer for all to see during the 2010 season.

It sucks to have to ask for money but, this is a way that we can all contribute a little, and be recognized for doing something that means a lot in so many ways. In my 18 years as a Bushwacker, I KNOW that at least 100 of you that will respond as soon as you read this. Don't wait for 99 others to do it. Pledge today! Thank You For Your Support!

Rather than Reply to each of you individually, please send your pledges to:
