The weekend of February 17 and 18 saw the first full camp of the Bushwackers in its new home, "Bushwacker Hall", in Franklin in snow covered Sussex County New Jersey. (Click here for a picture of the hall) The new corps hall offers a wealth of amenities for a drum corps, plenty of rehearsal space for all sections, Storage for the equipment in a controlled environment, sleeping quarters for out of town members and a spacious office suite from which to run the corps.
The hall also offers a storefront on Main Street that the corps plans on utilizing as a Thrift shop to help fund the corps with. During the entire weekend, Many alums dropped by with donations for the thrift store. The corps hopes to have the store up and running sometime early Spring.
Once the members got acquainted with their new surroundings, It was "back to work" for the 2007 edition of the Bushwackers. The corps welcomed new members in both the brass section and percussion section this weekend and this puts the corps on course to field another large corps this summer.
