News and AnnouncementsFor Immediate Release Tuesday, October 1, 2004 215-292-1522 Dan Delong to Arrange 2005 Bushwackers PercussionThe Bushwackers are pleased to announce that Dan Delong has agreed to arrange the 2005 percussion book. Dan served as a percussion consultant to the corps in 2004; he is looking forward to writing for the Bushwackers in 2005. Dan brings with him a wealth of experience with numerous organizations as a teacher and a participant. After marching with Westshoremen, and the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Dan began an active career of teaching, consulting and judging. He taught the Crossmen and then moved to the DCA circuit, joining the staff of the Westshoremen. Under Dan's seven-year tenure as Director of Percussion, the Westshoremen were four-time DCA World Champion High Percussion Excellence winners. In 1996 the corps captured their first DCA World Championships. In 1998-1999 Dan was named Director of Percussion for the Reading Buccaneers. In 2000-2003 Dan was named Director of Percussion Education for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Educated at West Chester University, Dan is an active performer in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and founder of Studio 1 Percussion. An NJA percussion judge since 1994, Dan is also a highly respected clinician, sponsored by Pearl Corporation, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, and Innovative Percussion. He has served as percussion coordinator for two NBC Macy's All-Star Drum and Bugle Corps. Please join with the Bushwackers in welcoming Dan and wishing him the best of luck in 2005.
