News and AnnouncementsFor Immediate Release Saturday, May 7, 2005 215-292-1522 Bushwacker UpdateBushwacker Update Saturday May 7th The Bushwackers were once again in Ridgefield Park New Jersey learning drill. This was the first weekend of full corps rehearsals and it was great to finally welcome the large guard to the "summer" season. Recruitment for the guard has been fantastic throughout the winter and it was great to see so many spread across the drill field. The drumline was put through its paces Saturday by Dan Delong, and what a productive day it was! More snare drummers joined the section this weekend making it the largest Bush Line in years. The finishing touches of the 1812 Overture were added to the battery and it brought many a smile to the percussion staff. The corps has also added Amy Thompson to the percussion staff. Amy is the pit tech for the WGI indoor line United Percussion and we are pleased to have her on staff. The hornline is doing great, getting very strong and the new Dynasty Bb brass sound fantastic. This hornline came together very early this season with many new faces joining the experienced, long-time vets, which the Bushwackers are known for. We have a couple trumpet spots and one mellophone spot still available. The 1st production, "Russlan, Ludmilla, and the Tumblers" has been completed on the move and the corps looks forward to starting and finishing the ballad of "Romeo and Juliet" this coming weekend. We promise to have pictures and maybe some video after this weekends rehearsals.
