Bushwackers announce 2007 Colorguard Staff

Scott Marshman - Color Guard Caption Head and Designer

Scott was a performing member of the Bushwackers in their very first year of existence. In addition to the Bushwackers, Scott was a member of the 1986 & 1987 Spirit Of Atlanta Color Guard (DCI World Champion Color Guard) - Guard Instructor for the New York Skyliners from 1989 to 1992 and Color Guard Caption Head of the Hawthorne Caballeros from 1998 to 2002. 2007 will be Scott's 14th year with the Bushwackers Color Guard. Scott has won 3 DCA World Titles with the Bushwackers, including the 2006 DCA Best Color Guard Award.

Scott is currently the program coordinator for Alter Ego winter guard of West New York, NJ (1998 WGI Independent A Class Bronze Medalist) and show designer for the Nutley High School Winter Guard from Nutley, NJ. Scott also consults with numerous high school marching bands and winter guard throughout New Jersey.

Currently Scott is an Assistant Vice President with Peapack-Gladstone Bank, where he is a Trust Officer in their Investment Management Division. Scott currently resides in Kearny, NJ

John Vega - Color Guard Technician and Designer

2007 will be John's sixth season with the Bushwackers Color Guard. Prior to being with the Bushwackers, John was a member and staff member of the Hawthorne Caballeros from 1998 - 2002. John was also a member of the Emerald Marquis Color Guard from Wakefield, MA, St Ann's Color Guard from Neponset, MA and Alter Ego Color Guard from West New York, NJ. In 2007, John will be marching his fourth season with the Blessed Sacrament Color Guard from Cambridge, MA, where he is also the captain of the guard. When not doing guard, John is continuing his education to one day become a full time teacher. John currently works for a New York Broker as a Collections Analyst. John is also a Certified Massage Therapist. John currently resides in Kearny, NJ

David Vega - Color Guard Technician and Designer

2007 will be David's sixth season with the Bushwackers Color Guard. Prior to being with the Bushwackers, David was a member and staff member of the Hawthorne Caballeros from 1998 - 2002. David was also a member of the St Ann's Color Guard from Neponset, MA and Alter Ego Color Guard from West New York, NJ. In the winter of 2007, David will be instructing the Blessed Sacrament Color Guard from Cambridge, MA. David currently resides in Dorchester, MA where he is a Credit Analyst.

Rich Kim - Color Guard Technician and Designer

This will be Rich's 3rd year with the Bushwackers organization. He attended The Boston Conservatory for dance and theatre and later received his BFA in Visual Art from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University with a double major in painting and sculpture. He continued his education at Massachusetts College of Art where he received his MSAE in Art Education.

He began his marching career with the South Brunswick HS Viking Marching Band and Color guard from Monmouth Junction New Jersey in 1992. There, he played both on the field and spun with the color guard, winning many USSBA Championships as well as the WGI Scholastic Open Bronze Medal in 1998. Since then he has taught South Brunswick from 2000-2003 and won WGI Independent World medals with St Ann's from Neponset, Massachusetts and Blessed Sacrament from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He currently writes and is a technician for the award winning Pride and the Passion, King Philip High School Color guard (MA), and East Brunswick High School Winter guard (NJ). Rich lives in Plainville, Massachusetts and teaches high school visual art at Walpole HS where he is the director of the Walpole HS Dance Company.
