Jeff Bittner - Brass InstructorJeff Bittner received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from William Paterson University in 1998 and received a Master's Degree in Music Performance from Ithaca College in 2000. Bittner is a public school music educator in New Jersey and is well sought after as a clinician and consultant for concert and marching bands in the North Jersey area. His professional performing experience has included The New Jersey Symphony, North Jersey Philharmonic, Wayne Chamber Orchestra, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Montclair Operetta Club, and Ridgewood Concert Band. Since 2003, Bittner has been the Director of Bands at Mahwah High School in Mahwah, New Jersey, where he directs the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and chamber ensembles. The Mahwah High School concert and marching programs have received numerous regional, state, and national awards. In January, Bittner had the honor of conducting the 2008 MEBCI Bergen County High School Band. Bittner's drum corps experience began in 1994 as a Soprano player with the Hawthorne Caballeros. He then continued his drum corps experience on soprano with the 1996 Cadets of Bergen County where he had performed in the Summer Olympics Closing Ceremonies, in Atlanta. He also was a member and mellophone soloist with the World Champion Syracuse Brigadiers in 2001 and 2002. Bittner found his home with the Bushwackers in 2006 and is thrilled to work again with the hornline as member of the brass staff this season. |
